Business lenders in the UK: the full list

Business loans, credit lines and asset finance come from a long list of lenders, each with its own rules. You don't need to approach them one by one.

The short answer

UK business finance comes from banks, specialist lenders and online platforms. Below are 85 of them, and we work with the majority.

This list is not for picking a lender. Each one prices and decides differently, and the right match depends on your business. We compare them for you in one go.

Why comparing them yourself is hard

On paper they look alike. In practice they differ on almost everything that matters.

  • how much they lend and over how long
  • interest rates, fees and early repayment terms
  • minimum trading history and turnover
  • whether they need security or a personal guarantee
  • which sectors they will and won't fund

Every application takes your time and documents, and most of that detail isn't published. That is the gap a broker fills.

Business lenders FAQs

Which is the best business lender?

There is no single best one. The right lender depends on how much you need, what it is for, how long you have traded and whether you can offer security. That is why we compare across the lenders we work with rather than recommend one name.

Should I go direct to a lender or use a broker?

You can go direct, but each lender only offers its own products, and each application takes time. A broker puts your profile in front of the lenders that suit it and compares the total cost for you.

How does FundingLinks get paid?

FundingLinks is an independent broker, not a lender. We are usually paid a commission by the lender when your facility completes. If any fee would apply to you, we agree it with you in writing before you proceed.

Who can borrow through FundingLinks?

Limited companies, LLPs and PLCs.
